Obituary

Tamara "Tammy" Marks, 78, passed away on November 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife and best friend of Allen for 56 wonderful years; loving mother of Deena Karno, Daniel, Jonathan (Regina) and Joseph (Noelia Martinez Lopez); cherished grandma of Max and Jaden Karno and Meredith and Benjamin Marks; adored sister of JoAnne (Rick Hoffman) Harris-Hoffman and sister in-law of Barry (Sandi) Marks; much loved aunt of Jeff (Lydia) Hoffman and Jaymie Hoffman, Steven (Amanda) Marks, Jaclyn (Doron) Hoel, and Debbie (Miguel) Marks. Tammy worked as a teacher for Chicago Public Schools for several years, raised her children, and then worked at the family Orthodontist practice. When Tammy was not working, she loved cooking, teaching her family the values of Judaism and making video montages of the family. She was an avid animal lover of all animals, but her true passion was spending time with her treasured family. Tammy truly touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Lupus Society of Illinois, www.lupusil.org, or Second Time Around Animal Rescue. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Chapel service, Tuesday, November 12, 2024; 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
