Sylvia Shancer, nee Kasper, age 92, of Skokie, beloved wife and best friend for 71 years of the late Abe Shancer, a Holocaust Survivor; loving mother of Roberta (Robert) Aronson, Wendy Shancer, Lewis (Cheryl) Shancer, and Jeffrey (Angela) Shancer; adored grandmother of Elyse (Segev Tsfati) Aronson-Tsfati, Pamela (Craig) Marbach, Debra Aronson, Joshua (fiancée Emily Shindler) Shancer, Elizabeth (Treavor) Cronin, Matthew Shancer, and Dr. Zoe Shancer; proud great grandmother of Arik, Oren, Noah, Claire, and Connor; devoted daughter of the late Louis and the late Esther Kasper; cherished sister of the late Sidney (late Gloria) Kasper. Graveside service Friday, 1:30 p.m. CT at Shalom Memorial Park, Rand & Wilke Rds., Arlington Heights. The service will be livestreamed on Sylvia’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Sylvia’s family was the center of her universe. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and her cheese blintzes were legendary. Sylvia will be dearly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Friends of Magen David Adom, www.afmda.org or the Greater Chicago Food Depository, www.chicagofoodbank.org.
