Sylvia Shancer, nee Kasper, age 92, of Skokie, beloved wife and best friend for 71 years of the late Abe Shancer, a Holocaust Survivor; loving mother of Roberta (Robert) Aronson, Wendy Shancer, Lewis (Cheryl) Shancer, and Jeffrey (Angela) Shancer; adored grandmother of Elyse (Segev Tsfati) Aronson-Tsfati, Pamela (Craig) Marbach, Debra Aronson, Joshua (fiancée Emily Shindler) Shancer, Elizabeth (Treavor) Cronin, Matthew Shancer, and Dr. Zoe Shancer; proud great grandmother of Arik, Oren, Noah, Claire, and Connor; devoted daughter of the late Louis and the late Esther Kasper; cherished sister of the late Sidney (late Gloria) Kasper. Graveside service Friday, 1:30 p.m. CT at Shalom Memorial Park, Rand & Wilke Rds., Arlington Heights. The service will be livestreamed on Sylvia’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Sylvia’s family was the center of her universe. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and her cheese blintzes were legendary. Sylvia will be dearly missed by all.
