Obituary

Steven Franklin Feinberg, PhD, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on March 17, 2026. He was the loving husband of Beryl (née Bloom) and the devoted father of the late Eric William Feinberg. He is survived by his nieces & nephews: Michelle (Todd) Riley, Hannah Lane, Alicia Riley, Alan (Jennifer) Feinberg, and Joey Lane; his brothers-in-law Kenneth Bloom and Al Bloom, and his sister-in-law Nancy (Scott) Lane. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Rose Feinberg, and brother, Charles Feinberg (Frances Weeks). Born in Rochester, New York, Steven pursued a lifelong passion for learning. He attended The University of Buffalo and Kent State University before earning his doctorate in Psychology from Syracuse University. A respected professional, he practiced in the field of Organizational Psychology in Chicago for over 40 years, leaving a lasting impact on his clients, colleagues, and the community. He was an avid college sports fan and the only things that took precedence over work were family, Syracuse basketball and March Madness. Service Friday, 12:00 p.m. CT at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 Blk N. of Lake Cook Rd.). The service will be livestreamed on Steven’s page at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Steven’s memory may be made to the Eric William Feinberg Fund, Keshet.org or c/o Keshet, 610 Academy Road, Northbrook, IL 60062.
