Obituary

Stacy Haynes (nee Smith), of Reisterstown, passed away on August 10, 2020, at age 49. Born in Randallstown, Stacy attended Randallstown High School, and West Virginia University, where she studied English. While in college she worked as a hostess at Hungry Jose’s Restaurant where she met and fell in love with her future husband Bill, who was working as a cook. His presence in the kitchen is what made her love going to work and began her love of Mexican food. They were married in 1996. She spent her whole career in the insurance industry, beginning at Maryland Insurance Group, Zurich Insurance then Farmers Insurance Group and finally, Travelers where she would remain for 15 years. Stacy had many interests including her dogs Rex and Maggie, who gave her so much comfort and love and were always by her side. She also loved the beach, traveling, books, Netflix, and shopping. One of her greatest loves was being with her family and friends, doing anything as long as they were together. Most of all, she simply loved making people happy, even if all it took was a kind word or her smile. She always hugged her doctors, nurses, and even other patients. Stacy was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, her children’s PTA, and the Sarcoma Sunflower Brigade where she was creating a Maryland chapter. Her greatest priority and love was her family and friends and would want to be remembered as a person who could make everyone smile.

Stacy is survived by her husband, Bill, children, Zachary and Zoe, her parents, Frank and Rhoda Smith, her brother, Michael Smith, sisters-in-law, Lisa & Chris Kee and Heather & Joseph O’Malley, nieces and nephews, Gage, Chloe, Carter, and Ava Smith, and Nicole, Gillian & Christopher Kee, and her father-in- law Ronald & Pam Haynes. She was predeceased by her parents-in-law, Maureen & Donald Sajecki.

A virtual funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 12 at 10am. Please visit www.sollevinson.com to watch the funeral. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, 405 Williams Court, Suite 120, Baltimore, MD 21220.
