Obituary

We regret to inform you that Sonya "Sonny" Goynshor, nee Friedman, died on June 7th, 2024. Sonny lit up the room as soon as she entered with her smile and infectious laugh. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, nana, and friend. Sonny was the adored and loving mother to Jonathan Goynshor and Andrea Allouche; mother-in-love to Dr. Julie Goynshor and Gili Allouche; beloved Nana to Haylie and Lilly Goynshor and Ariel, Aeden, and Noa Allouche. She was an incredible wife to Fred Goynshor for 53 years; dearest sister of Rochelle "Ricki" (Alan) Lieberman; devoted daughter to the late Florence and Irv Friedman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Accord Hospice, www.accordhospice.com or Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), www.fidf.org. Chapel service Monday, June 10, 2024, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
