Shirley Epstein, nee Silver, age 97, longtime resident of Highland Park and Hyde Park, beloved wife for 62 years of the late Byron “Bud” Epstein; loving mother of Bennett (Meridith Clement) Epstein and Marcia (Tom) Fraerman; adored Grandma Shirley of Andrew (Juliya Talmacheva) Fraerman, Amanda Fraerman, Jenn (Scott) Hoffman, and Abigail (Brian) Runo; proud great-grandmother of Reyne, Gabriel, Chloe, and Catherine; cherished sister of the late Lessing (Ruth) Silver; devoted daughter of the late Benjamin and the late Beatrice Silver. Her family was the center of her universe, and her favorite saying was “We have the best family”. Service will be held on Friday, 12:30 p.m. at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road, Glencoe, IL 60022. Interment Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to University of Chicago, giving.uchicago.edu, or Chicago Botanic Garden, chicagobotanic.org, or to a charity of your choice.
