Obituary

Sherwin A. Brook, 79, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, after a ten-year battle with lymphoma. He fought the disease valiantly, while always keeping an optimistic attitude.
Beloved husband of Shelly (née Genender) for 47 years; adored father of Todd (Kelly), Brad and Jeff (Heather); cherished "Papa" to Logan, Caitlyn, Brayden and Riley; much loved son of the late Evelyn and Phillip Brook; dear brother to Byron (Gail) and Marvin (Madeline); fond brother-in-law to Ann and Ken Genender. Founding partner of the BrookWeiner L.L.C. CPA Firm, served on the board of the Anti-Defamation League, was a Founding Father of Sigma Nu fraternity at Northern Illinois University and Beta Epsilon Gamma fraternity in Chicago and an active participant in various men's groups. Sherwin will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Memorial donations may be made in Sherwin's memory to the Anti-Defamation League, www.adl.org/donate, or the Lymphoma Research Foundation, www.lymphoma.org. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
