Obituary

Sherry Rontal, nee Silverman, 74, beloved wife for 51 years to Benjamin; devoted mother of Aaron Rontal and Suzanne (Robert) Gayle; proud Grammy of Samantha and Chelsea, daughters of Aaron, as well as Landon, Emersyn, and Caroline, son and daughters of Suzanne; loving sister of the late Linda (Mark) Jacobson; adored sister-in-law of the late Rubin (Robyn) Rontal; treasured aunt of Josh Rontal (Chris Adams), Sarah Rontal (An Ha), Judith Rontal, Shelby (Zach) Roy and Ian Jacobson; cherished dog mom of Popcorn and Snickers. Born and raised in Chicago's South side and a proud Bowen High School graduate, Sherry and Ben raised their family in Lincolnwood, Illinois. Sherry was a talented artist, spending many hours on needlepoint and beading. Sherry served as a lab technician for over twenty years assisting doctors as they tended to the sick. She was an avid reader, but above all she loved her family. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, www.leukemiarf.org. Chapel service Tuesday, September 24, 2:45 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
