Obituary
Sharon Joyce Rowe (nee Gumbiner), age 83, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on August 30, 2021. She was born on January 2, 1938, to Dr. and Mrs. Sylvia (Oguss) and Bernard Gumbiner. Sharon is survived by her husband Maynard, daughter Cyndee (John) Conway, son Robert (Jill) Rowe and daughter Stephanie (Svebor) Smolic, as well as nine grandchildren, Britt, Brendan and Cody Conway, Jack, Dylan and Brady Rowe, and Lexi, Max and Bella Smolic, sisters Judy (Howard) Edison, Gail Gumbiner and brother Ken (Chris) Gumbiner and many nieces and nephews. Sharon enjoyed golf, bridge, and the arts. She loved to sculpt, knit, and create beautiful jewelry pieces but was most passionate about her loving family, whom she would gather every Sunday evening for delicious home-cooked meals and fresh baked goods. She was married to her devoted husband, Maynard, for 61 years and 1 day, who was her sole caretaker and took terrific care of her during this difficult time. Sharon and Maynard were not only spouses but best friends and enjoyed traveling together, dancing, and golfing. Their love for each other will live on in all the wonderful memories shared by friends and family. She was so loved by all those who knew her and will be deeply missed every day. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sharon's honor to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org Graveside service for immediate family due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
