From the moment you walk into the bright, open foyer you feel welcome here. An understanding member of our compassionate staff greets every guest at the door and we treat you like our friend and neighbor.
Though Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels specializes in the traditions of Jewish families, we provide funeral, memorial, and burial services for people of all cultures, faiths and backgrounds.
We at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels understand that a Jewish funeral is a modest, solemn religious service designed to honor the dead and provide support to the family and friends of the person who has passed. Contemporary Jewish families are also finding ways to blend Jewish tradition with their modern lifestyles. Our funeral directors know how to help you do both and work with all sects of the Jewish faith: Orthodox, Conservative and Reformed. Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapels is among the larger Jewish-specialty funeral home in Queens, and we have plenty of parking.
Our 2-story building is filled with natural light and has 2 large chapels with traditional pews. One seats 350; the other seats 175. As you would expect from a funeral home that specialized in Jewish traditions, we have a tahara room for the ritual preparation of bodies and a large Kohanim building for those whose beliefs dictate that they not be under the same roof as their deceased loved one. Closed-circuit television allows those guests to see and hear the service without going into the building.
