Obituary

Sandra D. Himel "Sandy", 86, passed away on March 13, 2024. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Jack for 35 wonderful years; loving mother of Janice (Michael) Carrier, Diane "Dee Dee" (Chris) Shelgren, Joel (Shannon), and David (Marcie Netzky); cherished grandma of Branden, Rachel and Ashley Carrier, Cole and Tyler Shelgren, Haylee, Hannah, Jack and Maxwell and Zachary, Nicole and Danielle; much loved sister of the late Robert (Alicia) Belkin and sister in law of Ronald (Lorna Propes) Himel; treasured aunt, great aunt and friend to all who knew her. Sandy loved painting, country line dancing, shopping, traveling and a good book, but most of all Sandy adored her family. She will be dearly missed. Memorial donations to the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy,www.foundationforpn.org, would be greatly appreciated. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Chapel serivce, Friday, March 15, 2024; 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
