Obituary

Ruth Lipsky Kreiter, 100 just 17 days shy of her 101st birthday. Every one of those 101 years was lived with enthusiasm and verve. Ruth was the elder of two children born to Ida and Harry Lipsky. She married Harry Kreiter, on August 25,1940. Harry preceded her in death on July 24, 2018. She and Harry were the parents of 3 children: Michael Kreiter (Sandy Glass), Sheryl Porter (Michael Porter), and Bari Kreiter (Reid Neuman) and she was a surrogate mother to many others. Ruth was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and extended family. She always had words of encouragement, wisdom, and comfort. Although she loved her children, she adored her grandchildren Beth Kreiter, Sari Kreiter, Keith Kreiter (Julie Smoler), Lisa Reeves (Matthew), Amy Frieman (Brett), Zachary Elman (Jessica Whiting) and great-grandchildren Samuel, Jacob, and Abigail Reeves, Henry and Kate Frieman, Jori and Ryan Kreiter, Thomas and Jack Elman, all of whom, in her opinion were brilliant, talented, and gorgeous. She didn't hesitate to let anyone who would listen know about each of their accomplishments. Ruth was extremely close to her brother Ronald Lipsky (Harriet) who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in -law David (Rhoda Kreiter Levine), Abe (the late Beverly and Joan), Ned (the late Leila), and Herbert (Sharon). She is survived by her sister-in-law Sally Keene (the late William Keene). She is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Ruth's dear friend and caregiver Larisa (Laura) Viktorovna Yevgrafova for her companionship and care over the last eighteen months. Ruth had a long and joyful life. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her and were loved by her.
