Obituary

Ruth Kurnick Gildin, nee Eishel. On August 12, 2025, our dear Ruthie passed away peacefully after living a wonderful 96 years. She was a true gift to all of us in the Gildin and Klugman families. She outlived her husbands Mel and Barney and inherited daughters, Nancy and Candy, son-in-law Al, and grandchildren Abby and Brandon, who she loved as her own. She worked many decades at the Merchandise and Apparel Mart where she met both husbands. Ruth was such a happy person and spread joy to everyone she met. She loved music, dancing, traveling, theater, and spending time with her many friends. She truly lived life to the fullest. We will dearly miss our Ruthie and hold her in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be private, but a celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, Ruthie's wish would be for you to hug a loved one, call an old friend, do a good deed, put a smile on someone's face, and be happy! Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, www.ilholocaustmuseum.org, the Hadley School for the Blind, www.hadleyhelps.org, or Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org.
