Obituary

Rose Lisberg, nee Maikon, age 94, beloved wife of James Lisberg for 62 years; loving mother of Michael (Alison) Lisberg; proud grandmother of Sammie Lisberg and Noah Lisberg; devoted sister of the late Sol Maikon and the late El Dave Maikon; dear sister-in-law of Sandy Maikon. Rose was born in Cedar Rapids IA to Max and Bess Lisberg.  She graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.  Rose moved to Chicago and began her career with the telephone company.  Rose and Jim married in 1961 and welcomed their son Michael in 1965. She was a homemaker until 1972 when she went to work for Mundelein College and then Loyola University.  Rose had a long and distinguished career with Loyola until she retired in 2003 as the Business Manager for the School of Nursing.  Rose was a deeply devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  The family was everything to her.  She will be profoundly missed by those who knew and loved her. Service Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd, Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). The service will be livestreamed on Rose’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Interment Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org or the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.
