Obituary

Rose Z. Berman, nee Zeckendorf, age 92, grew up on the West Side of Chicago, raised her family in Skokie, and currently resided at the Tamarisk Retirement Community; beloved wife for 57 years of the late Sheldon “Shelley” Berman; loving mother of Karla (Mike) Goldman and Jodi (Rob) Rosenberg; adored Bubbie of Josh (Emily), Adam (Shelby), and David Goldman, Paige (Adam) Treshansky, Taylor (Jared) Golden, and Trevor (Tara) Cohen and proud Bubbie to their children Ellie, Riley, Noah, Caleb, Shea, Lennon, and Demi; devoted daughter of the late Karl and the late Pauline Zeckendorf; Rose was a respected and revered educator in the Chicago Public School System for 37 years. She was an avid canasta and mahjong player. Her family was the center of her universe. Rose will be dearly missed by them and her cherished friends. Service Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. CT at The Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 Block N. of Lake Cook Rd.). Rose’s service will be livestreamed at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Lurie Children’s Hospital, www.luriechildrens.org or the charity of your choice.
