Obituary

Rosalie Edelstein, nee Rosenwasser, age 86, born in Brooklyn, NY, moved to West Rogers Park at an early age, raised her family in Highland Park, and most recently was a resident at Tamarisk NorthShore in Deerfield. She was the beloved wife for over 64 years of Stuart Edelstein; loving mother of Geoffrey (Alison) Edelstein, Helene (Russ) Gelberg, and Michael (Cindy) Edelstein; adored grandmother of Daniel (Jamie) and Matthew (Anouk) Edelstein, Jessica (Aaron) Dannen, Madeline, Emma, and Natalie Gelberg, Benjamin and Samantha Edelstein; proud great grandmother of Logan and Noah; devoted daughter of the late Henry and the late Frances Rosenwasser; cherished sister of the late Jerry (Jackie) Rosenwasser; treasured aunt and friend of many. Her love of children and family was unparalleled. Rosalie spent over 30 years as a dedicated educator, teaching pre-schoolers across the North Shore at Ravinia Nursery School.  She was continually learning, whether it was through education, seminars, reading books or solving the weekly New York Times Crossword Puzzle. She cherished her time spent with her friends but most of all her family.  Her 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren were her world - always greeting them with a hug and a smile.
