Obituary

Dr. Robin “Rob” M. Hoffer, age 81, of Lake Forest, formerly of Highland Park; beloved husband and best friend for 56 years of Fran Hoffer, nee Barron; devoted son of the late David and the late Sylvia Hoffer; cherished brother of the late Susan (late Jim) Paradiso; treasured uncle of Nicole Paradiso. Rob had two very successful careers; he was a respected dentist for 25 years with practices in Des Plaines and Wheeling. Upon retiring from dentistry, Rob became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with the Greater Chicago Group (GCG Financial), which is now known as the Alera Group for over 20 years. Rob was truly loved by everyone, he was soft spoken, and the sweetest guy. Rob had many interests, including travel, the Cubs, and being involved in civic organizations. He was a Paul Harris Fellow with the Wheeling Rotary, a long-time member of the Des Plaines Jaycees, former treasurer of the Highland Park Community Foundation, Harper College Foundation Board, and former board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He will be so dearly missed by all. Graveside service Thursday, 3:00 p.m. at Westlawn Cemetery, Section Gardenia, 7801 W. Montrose Ave., Norridge.
