Obituary

Richard G. Siegel, age 83, of Lake Barrington, IL, born and raised in New York; beloved husband for 29 years of Bari Siegel, nee Rosen and the late Phyllis Siegel, nee Ashkinazi for 27 years; loving father of Sherri (Ron) Weber and Eric (fiancée Cindy Rosenblitt Skow) Siegel; cherished stepfather of Jon (Denise) Kopelson; adored grandfather of Jacob and Jesse Weber and Parker and Owen Siegel; devoted son of the late Louis and the late Ruth Siegel; dear brother of the late Alan Siegel; treasured uncle and friend.

Richard Siegel was a passionate, creative, and deeply artistic man who was fortunate to turn his natural talent and love for art into a lifelong career at a very young age. He acquired the advertising agency where he began and, alongside a fellow designer, built it into a successful firm that produced campaigns for national and international brands, including Lladró and many others. While building his business, he always prioritized being present as a father – coaching, participating, and fully engaged in every stage of his children's lives.

After Phyllis’s passing at a young age, Richard was fortunate to find love again with his wife, Bari. Together, they built a life in Chicago filled with travel, shared passions, and deep companionship.

Richard had a special love for his grandchildren and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments. Family visits, especially time spent together in Chicago, meant everything to him.

He was someone who could connect with anyone - quick to form friendships and always bringing warmth, humor, and creativity into every interaction. He loved games of all kinds, from cards and board games to jigsaw puzzles, acted in community theater, enjoyed sports, and, when he was able, found great joy in playing golf.

Richard will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on through the love he shared, the creativity he inspired, and the values he passed down to his family—gifts that will continue for generations.
