Obituary

Richard J. Price, 93.  Beloved husband for 46 years of the late Arlene, nee Checker; devoted father of Linda (Earl) Crown, Michael (Cori) Price, and Terry (Jim) Knobloch; cherished grandfather of Nick Price, Lauren Price, Heather (Brian) Sherwood, and Jennifer (Patrick) Barry; proud great-grandfather of Maddie, JP, and Maggie; caring brother of Manny (Saralee) Price, the late Sydney (the late Marvin) Berz and Donald (the late Charlotte) Price; loving uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Richard was a proud Army veteran (private first class). He loved to watch the Lone Ranger and superhero movies. He was a member of the Great Vest Side Club, Mecca Club and longtime congregant at Northwest Suburban Jewish Congregation and Congregation Beth Shalom. He sang in the choir at the synagogue, but would also belt a Frank Sinatra or Bing Crosby tune to entertain friends and family. Richard will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org, or the Dementia Society of America, www.dementiasociety.org. Chapel service Friday, May 9, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
