Richard Hartzen, 85, beloved husband of Anne nee Greenberg; loving father of Steven (Marla) and Gayle (Greg) Wiener; proud grandfather of Michelle (Andy), Mark, Jamie, and Jason; devoted son of the late Maurice and Julia; caring brother to Stuart. A gifted, dedicated insurance professional and lauded educator. He had a deep affinity for the Lakota Sioux people, and had the honor of participating in a Sundance. Lover of nature, fishing, and a good cigar. He cherished his friends and was always there for them. But most of all, he loved his family- they were his world. Graveside service, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Park 1700 W. Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL.
