Obituary

Richard "Rich" Charet, 83, passed away on May 5, 2025. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Myrna for 45 wonderful years; loving father of Jason (Rachel) and Paula (Brendan) Flynn; Cherished "Papa" of Joshua Charet, Aidan and Makayla Flynn; much loved son of the late Henry and Ann Charet; dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend of many. Rich was a proud Vietnam Veteran who was kind and often came across as quiet. He was a dedicated worker who kept working until his 80's. Despite often working long hours and traveling for work, Rich always made time for his family and nothing made him more proud then becoming a "Papa." Rich was a lover of music, loved to attend concerts, and was a huge sports fan; especially the Chicago Cubs. An Army Veteran, Rich was proud to be on the 2022 Honor Flight. He will be dearly missed. Memorial donations in his honor to Honor Flight, www.honorflight.org/donate would be greatly appreciated. Graveside service, Thursday, May 8, 2025; 2 PM at Shalom Memorial Park 1700 W. Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. For the link to view the service, shiva information and to leave condolences: www.shalommemorial.org or (847) 255-3520.
