Obituary

Rachel "Raye" Albelda, 96. Beloved wife for 44 years to the late Edward "Izz"; devoted mother of Paula (David) Nudelman, Robin (Larry) Holzman, Dale (Mark) Woodward, and Randi (Evan) Shapiro; cherished grandmother of Brian (Kathleen) Woodward, Jered (Melissa) Woodward, Ross (Alexandra) Nudelman, Ellyse Holzman, Evan (Emily) Woodward, Mara Shapiro, and Hailey Shapiro; proud great-grandmother of Logan, Marcus, Madelyn, Jason, Nicholas, Colton, Ophelia, Naomi, Robert, and Kylie; caring aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Raye worked until she was 85, mostly at Jewish Vocational Services. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, Jewish Vocational Services, www.jcfs.org/jvs, and American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Chapel service Monday, January 13, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
