Obituary

Paul Skurie, 93, of Northbrook and previously of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away May 1, 2026. Beloved husband and best friend for 60 years to the late Joan, nee Levey; devoted father of Dr. Samuel (Karen) Skurie and Pam (Kenny) Andre; adored grandfather of Jaclyn Skurie (fiancé Jamie Horton), Amanda Skurie (fiancé Jacob Dion), Charlie Skurie, Noah Andre (partner Misti Blakeney), Joshua (Reef) Andre, and Sarah Andre; caring son of the late Sam Skurie and Beatrice (the late Bill) Kassin; loving brother of the late Merle (the late Mike) Kramer and Cynthia (the late Harvey) Goodman; treasured uncle and friend of many. Paul's family would like to thank his dedicated caregivers Manny, Kate, and Karla for their compassion and kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired, www.hadley.edu, or American Friends of Magen David Adom, www.afmda.org. Chapel service Monday, 12:15 PM, at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
