Obituary

Paula Owrutsky (née Burman), 78, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife and best friend of Morton for 51 wonderful years; loving mother of Rita Burman, Larry (Elizabeth Schroeder-Owrutsky), and Jake; cherished "Bubbie" of Taylor and Riley; much-loved sister of Peter (Tamara) Burman and Minna (Joseph) Pirogovsky; adored aunt of Albert, Maya, and Alex; and dear friend to many.
Paula was driven and independent-a true free thinker whose life was centered around her family, especially her children. She was a treasured piano teacher who dedicated herself to raising her family with her devoted husband, Morton. Paula loved hosting family gatherings, cooking, and sharing that passion with those she loved. She also maintained a deep and meaningful connection to her Jewish heritage. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Magen David Adom, www.afmda.org. Chapel service, Monday, April 20, 2026; 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
