Obituary

Nina F. Tenny, nee Freed, age 82, of Arlington Heights, formerly of Skokie, beloved wife and best friend for 60 years of David Tenny; loving mother of Laurel (Andy) Stone and Matthew (Laurie) Tenny; adored Nana of Aaron Stone and Amelia and Elijah Tenny; devoted daughter of the late Sidney and the late Ida Freed; cherished sister of the late Glenn Freed. Nina dedicated her life to helping others. For over 25 years, she was a private college placement counselor, impacting the lives of countless students and their families. Nina was the former Regional Vice-President of Women’s American ORT. She was a political activist, an avid reader and oil painter, and enjoyed the theatre and a diverse genre of music, which was always being played in her home. Before it became widely popular, Nina understood the benefits of yoga and organic foods for her personal health and well-being, so she incorporated them into her daily routine. She passed these life lessons on to her family members. She will be so dearly missed by her family and friends.

There will be a private graveside service on Monday, May 4th. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Info: The Goldman Funeral Group, www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com (847) 478-1600.
