Shiva.com, the resource for Jewish mourning, announces partnership with New York based Jewish funeral homes, Weinstein, Garlick, Kirschenbaum Chapels and Weinstein Memorial Chapel (“Weinstein Chapels”) providing expanded resources for families and comforters.

MIAMI, FL  JULY 06, 2016

Shiva.com helps individuals, families and comforters learn about Jewish traditions, customs, and appropriate ways to express sympathy through its’ Learning and Planning Centers. Weinstein Chapels expands its resources for bereaved families by providing hundreds of relevant articles, and improves the sharing of funeral, burial and shiva information through the ShivaPlan™ powered by shiva.com.

This partnership broadens Weinstein Chapels’ services by providing families and comforters with comprehensive information on the traditions of shiva, Jewish mourning, and commemoration. Shiva.com’s Learning Center provides guidance relating to grief, coping and bereavement and loss as it relates to the traditions of Jewish mourning and shiva. Weinstein Chapels helps with the shiva planning by creating individual ShivaPlans for each family. Each ShivaPlan provides a single resource to manage information related to the funeral and shiva. It securely collects contributions, along with providing a place for family, friends and others to express condolences. Families are able to email, print, or share links to the ShivaPlan, providing accurate information for the funeral and shiva.

“We are excited to partner with shiva.com to provide our families with additional information and tools in order to expand the services we already offer,” says Suzin Weinstein Rubin, Vice President of Weinstein Family Services of New York, Inc. “It is such an overwhelming and stressful time we want to help in any way we can.”

Weinstein Garlick Kirschenbaum and Weinstein Memorial Chapel, is a fourth generation funeral home serving the Jewish community for over 85 years, and is proud to have third and fourth generations active in day-to-day operations. They have been serving generations of families in all 5 boroughs and surrounding areas, as well as throughout the United States. Their family is committed to honor and commemorate loved ones through providing compassionate and professional services. In addition, the Weinstein family specializes in traditional monuments to assist in perpetuating loved ones’ legacies.

“Our team looks forward to collaborating with Weinstein Chapels to provide the most informative and easy-to-use set of Jewish mourning tools and resources,” says Michael Schimmel, CEO and founder of shiva.com. “We are always honored to partner with great organizations that share our principles.”
