Obituary

Neal A. Spero, MD, 86, February 26, 2023; beloved husband and best friend of Glorya (nee Shorr) for 58 wonderful years; loving father of Pam (Tony) Kamin, Kenneth (Carolyn), and the late Gary; cherished "Papa" of Melissa and Michael Spero and Treat Kamin; much loved brother of Judy (the late David) Levin and brother in-law of the late Bill (Marcy) Shorr; dear uncle, great uncle and friend to all. Neal was a dermatologist for more than 50 years. He was on the medical executive committee at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and he was president of the medical staff at Thorek Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Neal enjoyed golfing, photography, and collecting art and art glass. He loved to travel, having visited 7 continents, but his greatest pride and joy was his family. Memorial donations in his honor may be made to the Cancer Wellness Center (www.cancerwellness.org/donate). Chapel service, Tuesday, February 28, 2023, 12:15 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
