Obituary

Nat S. Shapiro, 79, passed away on May 5, 2025; beloved husband and best friend of Peggy (nee' Rabin) for 55 wonderful years; much loved brother of Sherri (Stuart) Bailin; adored son of the late Meyer and Emma Shapiro; wonderful brother in-law of Ellen Beth (Melvin) Plosky; dear uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Nat met his beloved Peggy at a bank where they both worked as tellers. After they married, they took their love for traveling and started a travel agency, Associated Travel located in Arlington Heights, that they lovingly owned and operated for over 30years. Nat and Peggy were "world travelers" having been to Italy, London for Nat's birthday weekend, Hawaii many times, Africa, New Zealand, China and over 20 cruises. Nat enjoyed golfing, gardening, and cheering on Chicago sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Nat truly was a lover of life and will be missed dearly. Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, www.kidneyfund.org, the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
