Obituary

Myron "Mike" Leibovitz, 96, passed away on March 18, 2025. Beloved husband of Myrna (née Fishman) for 53 wonderful years; loving father of Lynn (Paul) Green, Alan and Gary (Cleo) Leibovitz; cherished "Papa Mike" of Alli (Barry) Schwartz, Tori (Brett) Rheingruber, Kyle (fiancee' Alicia) and Michael Leibovitz; adored great "Papa" of Mari, Livie, Leo and Emma; much loved brother of the late Calvin (the late Elaine) and the late Howard; dear uncle, great uncle and friend to many. Long time member of Niles Township Jewish Congregation. Mike was a funny guy who had no filter, he loved sports especially the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Northwestern University. Mike and his brother Calvin began a wholesale shoe business "Illinois Footwear" and eventually with the help of their sons became a retail shoe business "Lebo Shoes." Mike worked in the business for over 40 years but always make time for his kids. He coached sports, attended his daughter's performances, and family trips. He also loved Vegas and a good game of Blackjack. After retirement enjoyed tennis, riding horses or his greatest joy being a proud grandpa. Memorial donations can be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/donate. Chapel service, Monday, March 24, 2025; 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W.
