Obituary

Myrna R. Gassel, nee Slotky, age 88, of Highland Park; beloved wife for 56 years of the late Jerome Gassel, DDS; loving mother of Cheri (Steven) Sinnott Springer, Debra (Lee) Spector, Jeffrey (Maria) Gassel, and the late David (Karen) Gassel; adored Grandma Myrna of Megan (Kevin), Courtney (Curt), A.J. (Jenny), Zoe (Tim), Daniel (Najee), Jessye, Jason, Brandon, Eric, Jayla, and Ari and stepgrandmother of Fayth and Hope; proud GG of Joshua, Abigail, Riaan and Rami; devoted daughter of the late Joseph and the late Jean Slotky; cherished sister of Ferne (Sander) Berman and the late Burton Slotky; treasured aunt and friend of many. Myrna taught in the Devonshire School District, Panama Canal Zone and Fairview South Elementary School. Later, she was a successful and respected realtor in the North and Northwest suburbs, and the North side of Chicago. Myrna enjoyed golf, Rummikub, MahJong, Canasta, being an active member at the Highland Park and Lake Forest Senior Centers and most of all, spending time with her family.

Service Monday, 2:00 p.m. at The Buffalo Grove Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove (1 Block N. of Lake Cook Rd.). Myrna’s service will be livestreamed at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
