Obituary

Mordecai I. Pechter, 86, passed away on November 15, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Rhoda for 51 wonderful years; loving father of Michael (Cindy), Susan (Gary) Ornoff and Marc (Sharon); cherished "Zaide" of Brett and Scott Pechter, Matthew and Nicole Ornoff and Shay, Abbey and Jake Pechter; much loved brother of the late Marvin, the late Joseph (Arlene) and the late Frances Cazes. Mordecai was a hard working business owner and took pride in his Hardware Store. When he was not working Mordecai enjoyed family time especially his Sunday breakfasts with his adored family. He was a proud member of MEL "Men Enjoying Leisure" Club and often enjoyed playing water volleyball. Mordecai was a friend to all and he will be dearly missed. Memorial donations in his honor can be made to Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Chapel service, Wednesday, November 20, 2024; 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
