Obituary

Mike Silver, 94, "Papa Mike", beloved husband of Cecille Silver, née Edelsburg, very happily married for 66 years; loving father of Helene (Dr. Howard Freedberg) Berns and David (Susan) Silver; loved and adored Papa of Danielle (Jeffrey) Pearlman, Zachary Berns, Jordan (Ashley), Dr. Chad (Rachel) and Tori Silver; cherished great-grandfather of Aspen, Axel, Bodie and Willow; treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mike was a Holocaust survivor, born in Poland. Papa Mike was loved by everyone who met him and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, www.ilholocaustmuseum.org or the Jewish United Fund (JUF), www.juf.org. Chapel services Tuesday, May 30, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
