Obituary

Michael Hess, born July 18, 1962, passed away suddenly but peacefully on October 31, 2021. Mike will be remembered for his big heart, big smile and love for those around him. First and foremost he loved his family - the best husband, father, son, brother, and friend to everyone. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Karen, nee Coleman, daughters Andrea and Jenna, parents George and Betsy, brothers David and Bill, and numerous other loving family members and friends. He was a tireless advocate for children and families through his career as a teacher and counselor in elementary and middle schools. He spent over a decade working as a beloved School Counselor at Pikesville Middle School, as well as Randallstown Elementary School and the Gilman School, where he was also a student for 12 years. Mike received much professional recognition for his work. He loved sports, was a diehard Ravens, Terps, Orioles, and Capitals fan, and played competitive tennis with a devoted group of friends. Mike was positive, kind, loyal, and funny. He made this world a better place and will be deeply missed.
