Obituary

Maureen Ellen Rosenthal, nee Soifer, 84, died peacefully on June 13, 2025. The beloved wife for 59 years of the late Leo Rosenthal; loving mother of Steve (Stephanie) Rosenthal, Marcia Bruckman, and Julie (Michael) Helfer; adored grandmother of Amanda, Brooke, and Matthew Rosenthal, Kyle and Courtney Bruckman, Emily and Jacob Helfer; dear daughter of the late Albert and the late Ruth Soifer; cherished sister of the late Bruce (Dawn) Soifer. She was an aficionado of the Yiddish language and used it generously. Maureen had a unique and special relationship with all 7 of her grandchildren, who knew her as Mema. She enjoyed the beauty in flowers everywhere that she went, surrounded her home with them and wore them on her clothing. She will be dearly missed. Service Monday, 12:00 Noon at The Chapel, 195 N Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove (1 blk North of Lake Cook Rd). Interment Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights. The service will be livestreamed on Maureen’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The ARK Chicago, www.arkchicago.org.
