Obituary

Martin B. Sanders, D.D.S., F.A.D.S.A., Diplomate N.D.B.A., age 78, beloved husband and best friend of Ann nee Zimmerman, for 53 wonderful years; loving father of Dr. Leslie Sanders Norton (Christopher Norton) and Dr. David (Gabbi) Sanders; cherished Pumpa of Chase and Ethan Sanders; devoted son of the late Bernice and Herman Sanders; dear brother of Dr. Stuart (the late Donna) Sanders, Dr. Donald Sanders, Bruce Sanders and brother-in-law of Susan Zimmerman (the late Herb Smith); treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Marty started at the University of Illinois Circle Campus in 1964 and received his D.D.S. degree in 1971 at University of Illinois at the Medical Center. Marty practiced dentistry for over 44 years in Lombard, where he had the honor to practice with his children Leslie and David. Marty was an innovator in Chicagoland, being one of the first practitioners to provide IV sedation in general dentistry. When Marty wasn't working, he was a true family man. He loved to golf and spend his winters in sunny Arizona with family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org) and the Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (www.rolfefoundation.org). Chapel service Wednesday 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
