Obituary

In Loving Memory of Dr. Martin Frankel
August 29, 1935 – April 30, 2026

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Martin Frankel on April 30, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Martin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, beautiful singing voice, his great dancing, and the beautiful artwork he created.

Martin graduated from yeshiva, attended Brooklyn College, and went on to earn his degree in dentistry from NYU. He also proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Martin shared nearly 67 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Natalie Frankel, who passed exactly one year before him. Their bond was profound, and those close to him knew that her loss left a deep void in his heart. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and travel. He maintained dental practices in East New York and Tuckahoe for many years, where he was deeply appreciated by his patients. In his dedication to caring for others, Martin taught himself Spanish to better communicate with those he served.

Martin was also an active and dedicated member of the Greenburgh Hebrew Center, generously giving his time and energy to the community. His connection to his yeshiva education and values remained an important part of his life.

He is survived by his devoted children, Ellen Gleicher (Robert) and Marc Frankel (Madina); and his five cherished grandchildren: Dylan, Ian, Ryan, Oliver, and Matthew amd two surviving sisters Reba Sudberg (Daniel) and Jackie Leiter (Martin) He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and a community enriched by his presence.

Dr. Martin Frankel’s legacy of love, strength, compassion, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May his memory be a blessing.
