Obituary

Marline Massarik, 86, née Shevel, beloved wife of the late Ronald Massarik happily married for 59 years; loving mother of David (Bonnie) and Sara Massarik; cherished Bubbie of Shoshana, Michelle and Rebecca Massarik, Juliana, and Madeleine Berlin; preceded in death by her sisters Jeanette Neiman and Grace Shevel and her brother Harry Shevel; treasured aunt to several nieces and nephews. Marline was a graduate of Northwestern University, an elementary school teacher, and held a Master's degree in English literature. She later worked in commercial real estate. Marline was a lifelong learner and an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling the world with Ronald and hiking across various National Parks with her children and grandchildren. Marline had a magnetic personality and was a dear friend to many who were lucky enough to know her. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org. Chapel service Thursday, June 6, 2024, 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
