Obituary

Marjorie "Margie" Goldberg, nee Usow, 84, caring mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by family March 1, 2024. She is survived by her daughters Suzanne Minkus (Charles), Julie Goldberg (Angela Rosemond), Kendra Oprondek (Michael), and Eva Kennicott (Greg); grandchildren Geniene, Steven (Ali), and Brian Minkus; Samuel (Caitlin), Luke (Jenna), and Noah Oprondek; Jill, and Henry Kennicott. Margie was a passionate early childhood educator who touched the lives of many young children through her work at Wilmette Park District, Mayer Kaplan JCC, JRC, Rainbow Path Childhood Center and finished her career directing a child care program at Great Lakes Naval Station. Margie was an avid player of mahjong, enjoyed swimming, yoga and especially loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Margie was a good friend to many, loved by her family and will be missed by all. Graveside service Monday March 4th, 1 PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Alzheimer's Research and Prevention Foundation (alzheimersprevention.org) or National Association for the Education of Young Children (naeyc.org/search/donate).
