Marilyn Mayer, nee Shaw, age 84, formerly of Morton Grove, loving mother of Michael (Karen) Mayer and Ellen (Alan) Gartenberg; adored grandma of Jeffrey (Adina) Mayer, Brittany (Kristopher Kinash) Gartenberg, Melissa Gartenberg, Melanie Mayer and the late Rebecca Mayer; proud great grandmother of Shmuel Mayer; devoted daughter of the late Jack and the late Bella Shaw; cherished sister of the late Lorraine Shaw and the late Carol (Marvin) Pomerantz; former spouse of Harold Mayer; treasured friend of many. Her gift of friendship and love will be forever missed. Graveside service Monday, 1:30 p.m. CT at Jewish Oakridge Cemetery, 4111 Roosevelt Rd., Hillside.
