Louis Sommerfeld, DDS, 82. Beloved husband for 58 years to Sherrie, nee Fine; devoted father of Steven (Nicole) Sommerfeld and Michael (Jennifer Schaen) Sommerfeld; cherished grandfather of Joshua, Ashley, Sydney, and Abby Sommerfeld; loving brother of the late Robert (Judy) Sommerfeld and brother-in-law of Beverly (the late Arnold) Spiro, Cookie (Peppy) Kanarish, and Joni (the late Louis) Goldstein; caring son of the late Wallace and Helen; treasured uncle and great-uncle of many; dear cousin of the late Marvin (Marilyn) Sommerfeld and the late Hubert (Judy) Sommerfeld. Louis was a proud US Army veteran. He was a well-loved dentist with practices in Chicago and Schiller Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, www.myasthenia.org, or the North Chicago VA, www.cdceportal.va.gov/donate_online/.Chapel service Wednesday, April 10, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
