Obituary

Lori Bacalar, nee Berk, 66, beloved wife and best friend of Dr. Carey Bacalar for 41 wonderful years; loving mother of Dr. Steven (Rachel) Bacalar, Scott Bacalar (Ana Debeljak), and Dr. Alex Bacalar; proud Bubbe of Mira and Emmy Bacalar; cherished daughter of Sonia and the late Al Berk; dear sister of Zina (Jeff) Kovit and Sheila (Michael) Small; adored aunt of Aliza, Rachel, and Arielle; loyal friend of many. Lori will be missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of generosity, love, and kindness will continue to live in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Holocaust and Education Center (www.ilholocaustmuseum.org) and the Jewish United Fund (www.juf.org). Chapel service Friday 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
