Lisa Marie Hershenson, nee Ford, beloved wife of Michael Hershenson; loving mother of Audrey (Robin Murray) Hershenson and Tess Hershenson; devoted daughter of the late Charles and the late Ruth Leininger Ford; cherished sister of Viktoria “Viki” (Stephen Kaufman) Ford, Erik Ford, and Chuck Ford; treasured daughter-in-law of Barbara (late James) Gaylord and the late Loren Hershenson; dear sister-in-law of Marc (Theresa) Hershenson, Lynn (Michael) Feldman and step sister-in-law of Leeann (Bruce) Alexander and the late Van Gaylord; adored aunt of Adam (Jen) Boskey, Reed (Lauren) Boskey, George Ford, Cian Ford, Sam Ford, Rowen Fields, Natalie Hershenson, and Lana Hershenson; special cousin and friend to many.
Lisa was a creative, kind, and thoughtful person who brought warmth and light to those around her. A rising star at Talbots Women’s Clothing Retailer, she paused her career to focus on the family, helping her husband as his Office Manager and trusted advisor, and her children as the President of their K through 8 school PTA.
As the children grew up, she became active with the Garden Club of Evanston and won an award for excellence in floral design from the Garden Club of America. In addition, with her creativity and culinary skills, she became Director of Product Innovation and Quality at Whole & Free Foods, developing their delicious recipes for foods free from major allergens.
Throughout her long journey with cancer, she remained calm, poised, and a soul full of beauty and grace. Despite her illness, she continued to put the needs of her family and friends first. In all her endeavors, her generosity of spirit brought people together. Her presence will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she has touched.
Memorial Service Sunday, May 17, 2026, 12 Noon, at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd, Skokie (at Niles Center). Lisa’s service will be livestreamed on her webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated via check to The Garden Club of Evanston, 2202 McDaniel Ave, 60201, with a note that they are in honor of Lisa Hershenson.
