Obituary

Lewis Manheimer passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the age of 87. Lewis was born in New York City on February 4, 1937, an only child, to Bertha (Schlossberger) and Solomon Manheimer. After the death of his father at the age of 2, he was raised by his mother in the Bronx, NY. Lewis attended public schools and then Baruch College where he earned a degree in accounting. He became a CPA and ultimately spent 40 years working for the IRS, which he really enjoyed. On November 17, 1968, Lewis married Marion Stone. Together they raised 2 sons. Lewis was very involved at his longtime synagogue, the Riverdale Jewish Center. He also enjoyed baseball, going to the opera, traveling to explore new places and going out to eat at different restaurants. In addition to his wife Marion, his partner in life for over 55 years, Lewis is survived by his sons Steven (Shira) and Robert (Katye), as well as 5 granddaughters: Maura, Samantha, Miranda, Hannah, and Leora.
