Obituary

Leon Rakowsky, 81, beloved husband of Arlene Rakowsky, née Paul, happily married for 58 years; loving father of Craig (Robin Gerber) and Darin (Anna) Rakowsky; cherished Papa Leon of Ethan and Abby Rakowsky; much loved brother of Sandra (the late Herbie) Harris and the late Bonnie Krasny; dear brother-in-law of Phil Krasney and Iris (the late Gary) Greenbaum; treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews. Leon and his father Paul were pioneers in the auto glass and glazing industry. Leon owned Ace Auto Glass and Mirror Company in Glenview, which is currently owned by third generation, Craig. Pickleball was Leon's hobby and passion for the last 15 years, he played regularly at their club in Delray Beach and loved to teach all his friends. His presence will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org. Chapel service Friday, December 22, 2023, 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
