Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Silver, age 88, of Libertyville, beloved wife and best friend for over 50 years of Judy Silver, nee Blender and the late Carol Kaplan; loving father of Andrea (Ned) Herchenbach, Gary Silver, and Mitchell (Teresa); adored Zadie of Erica (Genelle), Ty, Ryne, Aric, Sadi, Leah (James), Sarah, and Staci (fiancé John); proud great grandfather of Josie and Louis; devoted son the late Louis and the late Florence Silver; cherished brother of Estelle (Larry) Lasky and Bruce (Audrey) Silver; dear brother-in-law of Toby (Manny) Silver; treasured uncle and friend of many. Larry was lovingly cared for by "Larry's Angels" Pau, Rhona, and Emma. Larry was quiet & reserved. He listened more than he spoke. He was a man who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Larry’s happiest days of his life were his wedding day, the birth of his children and the Chicago Cubs winning the world series.

Graveside service Friday, 11:30 a.m. at Jewish Oakridge Cemetery, 4301 Roosevelt Rd., Hillside. Larry’s service will be livestreamed at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Cubs Charities Community Fund, www.mlb.com/cubs/community/cubs-charities/community-fund or The Cradle, www.cradle.org.
