Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Kaplan, age 61, of Evanston, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, proud owner of The Wine Cellar in Palatine; beloved husband for almost 24 years of Lisa Kaplan, nee Herzlich; loving father of Molly Kaplan; cherished brother of Nancy (Larry) Sperling, Carol Kaplan, and the late Steven (Juli Hanssen) Kaplan; dear brother-in-law of Ken (Karen) Herzlich; devoted son of the late Allan and the late Harriet Kaplan; fond son-in-law of Rochelle Kornick; treasured uncle of Adam Sperling, Hayley Sperling, Ivy Kaplan, Zollie Kaplan, and Manny Kaplan; special cousin and loyal friend to many. Larry epitomized the phrase “larger than life” with his gregarious personality that would fill any room. He was strong physically, but more importantly, he was strong in his devotion and love for his family. Larry was so proud being a University of Minnesota alumnus and reminiscing playing nose tackle for the Golden Gophers.
