Obituary

Laurie Sue Ulrich, age 68, of Buffalo Grove, formerly of Skokie; was a respected and dedicated special education teacher at Springman Junior High, in Glenview School District #34 for 20 years; loving mother of Ira (Terri Varney) Ulrich; cherished sister of Craig (Jane) Jacobson and the late Steven (Susan) Jacobson; devoted daughter of the late Roberta Jacobson and the late Martin (Elaine) Jacobson; treasured aunt of Robert (Dannia) and Eric (Jaclyn) Jacobson, David (Cally) Jacobson, Michelle, Emily, and Jeremy Jacobson; former spouse of Andrew Ulrich. Laurie was always upbeat, frequently referring to herself as “Lucky Laurie” during her Huntington's disease journey. She was passionate about sports, specifically her love for skiing and swimming competitively in high school. Laurie shared her love for music, especially Jimmy Buffett, with Ira. They attended numerous concerts together. Graveside service Monday, 11:00 a.m. CT at Zion Gardens Cemetery, formerly known as Rosemont Park Cemetery, please use the entrance at 6758 W. Addison St., Chicago. The service will be livestream on Laurie’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
