Obituary

Kenneth A Karns, 72, beloved husband and best friend of Beverly, nee Adelman; loving father of Lisa (Anthony) Sinopoli of DeKalb, Lori Karns of Johnsburg, Joseph (Mila) Karns of Holland Michigan, Matthew (Maggie) Karns of Batavia, Michelle (Anthony) Chan of Elmhurst, and Andrew (Kelly) Karns of Westmont; loving stepfather of Michelle (Craig) Kaplan of Wheeling and Cari (Jeremy) Zorns of Kenosha, Wisconsin; cherished grandfather of Justina, Julia, Carli, Nicholas, Anthony, Maria, Lorelai, Stanzi, Tyler, Drew, Owen, Cameron, Nathan, Weston, Emmett, Claire and Penny; great-grandfather of Grace Ryk and Nathaniel Cardiel; dear brother of the late Ronald (Dee-Dee) Karns of Arlington Heights and Sharon Kraemer of Genoa City, Wisconsin; devoted son of the late Elmer and Darlene Karns. Ken worked for Montgomery Ward in Chicago and Schamburg for nearly 30 years. He then went on to Grainger Inc. for 11 more years until his retirement in 2016. In his personal life, his favorite pastime was boating with his family, beginning as a young boy on Bohner's Lake Wisconsin to his current lakefront home on Lake Zurich. He also had a passion for music; whether it was attending rock concerts or just playing it around the house, Ken loved music. Graveside service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 7th 2024 at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cold Agglutinin Disease Foundation Inc. (https://coldagglutinindisease.org).
