Kareen "Kay" Goldsmith Snyderman passed away on May 2, 2026, at the age of 85.
She grew up on the South Side of Chicago, married her high school sweetheart Dennis, raised their children in Wilmette, then moved to Highland Park and later Northbrook. Kay worked for almost 60 years as a lab technician, phlebotomist and receptionist for various doctors. She loved interacting with patients and caring for others. Some of her most enjoyed hobbies included visiting art fairs, estate sales, a nice walk, caring for her plants, playing rummy cube and eating ice cream. Her favorite role was being a wife, mother, Bubby and Big Bubby. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren.
Kay is the beloved wife of Dennis; loving mom to Myles Snyderman, Susie (Tod) Ohley and Debby (Brad) Nahrstadt; adored Bubby to T.J. (Kristina) Ohley, Shayna (Mike) Habecker, Benny (Steph) Nahrstadt, Josh Nahrstadt (fiancee Emily Pierce), and Max and Jake Snyderman; cherished Big Bubby to Tully Habecker; dedicated daughter of the late Sidney and Minnie Goldsmith; dear sister of Danny (Vivi) Goldsmith, Marty (Steph) Goldsmith and Vicki (the late Marshall) Friedman; treasured sister-in-law of the late Perry (the late Elaine) Snyderman and the late Robert (the late Ilse) Snyderman; devoted Auntie to many nieces and nephews.
