Obituary

Julius Brill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the remarkable young age of 100 in Glenview, Illinois. Born in Poland, to Abraham and Sara Brilsznaider, Julius survived the Holocaust alongside his brother Shlomo.


Julius was the devoted husband of the late Lily (Levy) Brill and father to Viola, Aron (Cheri), Fay, and Sara (Kristopher). Cherished grandfather to Kaitlyn (Brandon), Colleen, Ted, Julius Martin (Miriam), Thomas, and Lily, and great-grandfather to Dillon, William, and Isabelle. Preceded in death by his siblings Shlomo, Aron, and Seema, and his grandson David Pagan. Julius is further survived by family and friends, as well as his dear friend and companion Danuta, he loved us all.


In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Julius's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (online at stjude.org) or The Jewish Federations of North America (jewishfederations.org).


Graveside service, Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Shiva will follow at the home of Aron and Cheri Brill on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Shiva will be hosted at the home of Sara and Kristopher on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For information or to leave condolences: Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, www.shalommemorial.org or (847) 255-3520.
